Anxiety Prevalence and its associated factors among university Professional Students
Objectives The study was carried to investigate anxiety and its related risk factors among a group of university professional students.
Methods The sample contains 200 students that were in age group of 18-24 years from faculty of pharmacy and alternative medicine, IUB. The data was collected by structured interview based on Hamilton anxiety scale and questions on socio-demographic variables. Descriptive as well as inferential statistics was used for analysis of data.
Results Means, S.D's, Mann- Whitney U and Kruskall- Wallis tests were used to analyze the data. Anxiety was found to be highly prevalent among university professional students and it is significantly associated with gender, residency location, Study year and Study performance.Conclusion There is high prevalence of anxiety among university students and several factors have an impact on anxiety among students
