Engendering Management Information System for introducing incipient information accommodation in Academic Libraries.
The study presents how to create an information system for introducing a new information service in the libraries and the information centers. The uses of Information and communication Technology (ICT) facilitate easier & immediate access to Information. Automation of libraries has availed the libraries to keep pace with the latest Development .This has additionally facilitated precision, flexibility and reliability in the library and information centre. Management Information System of libraries reduces the perpetual work and preserves them and brings precision and speed. It withal increases efficiency in technical processing of library materials and amend the efficiency of library administration and management. We also come to know the role of IT & the professional staff of the library in the present scenario in the study. This study also gives a status view of changes of Function of Academic Library from past to present.
