Software Tools and Techniques for Analysis of Proteomic LC-MS Data

Sanjay Gaikwad

Mass spectrometry is an analytical technique used by biochemists to identify unknown compounds in complex mixtures. Mass spectrometric analysis is an important technique for researchers and practitioners from various disciplines within biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, ophthalmology, and physics. Moreover in discovery of drug, where compound identification and purity from synthesis and early pharmacokinetics are determined and MS has proved indispensable. Tear fluid proteomics may prove possible novel tool as it can be used for the prescreening of large population patients and subsequently graded in to disease severity classes.
